| Greg Blaum is a Senior Security Technology Solutions Professional with Microsoft Corporation. He is responsible for Security products and technologies and has been with Microsoft Corporation for 15 years. Greg has spent 9 of those years in the Microsoft field organization, where he has been responsible for direct communication with customers on a multitude of products and technologies. For 6 years, Greg was a key member of several product teams, holding positions in Product Management, Software Testing, and Program Management. Greg has B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, served in the Illinois Air National Guard for 12 years, and he currently resides in the Chicago area. | |

| Randy Cetin joined CITES in 1986 as a research programmer in the "Graphics Group" and has held numerous leadership positions in the organization since then. | Les Cromwell is the Acting Manager of the CITES Identity Management Team. Although this is a relatively new role for Les, he has been a part of the team since 2006 and has over 16 years of higher education administrative experience, with the last 6 + years on the Illinois campus. He has served as Assistant Director of Admissions and Assistant Registrar for Document Management, where he was intimately involved in the identity and student record conversion from UI Direct to Banner and other UI Integrate/AITS projects. After serving as a Banner general person and general student expert and trainer for campus, he moved to CITES, which benefits from his knowledge of university administration and the three campus’ business/academic process, Banner/Enterprise Data Warehouse identity data, and work flow. | |
| Jeff is a seasoned veteran spanning more than 20 years experience in the different aspects of information technology management, technology infrastructure, network engineering, application architecture, business continuance strategies, and mission critical facilities. He has worked with a number of larger companies helping analyze, design and manage large production IT environments and data centers. Jeff joined Dell in August of 2008, having spent the previous 8 years responsible for Intel’s IT Global Data Center Services and the last year as a Senior Architect helping several of Intel and Intel’s most important clients to establish strategies to achieve reliable and cost effective IT environments. Having served as a Manager for Intel’s Global Data Center Organization, Jeff brings a unique set of deep technical skills combined with the ability to work effectively with senior customer management helping to define business objectives and requirements, and translate them into highly innovative solutions. As a recognized leader in the Data Center Community, At several the industry forums, Jeff has spoken and has taught several courses where he is acknowledged as an Subject Manner Expertise in IT operations, strategic planning, facilities engineering and data center design. | Debbie Fligor has been working with networks on this campus since the early 1990's and has been a part of Network Engineering at CITES since 1999. Always up for a challenge, she took a multicast workshop in 2001, and has been helping with the multicast care and feeding on the network ever since. Since January 2005, she's been an instructor at four multicast workshops held by Internet2, including one in Urbana in 2006. | |
| Chuck Geigner is a Research Programmer for CITES, currently designing the vulnerability management program. Geigner performed Vulnerability Assessments and assured PCI compliance for State Farm Insurance. Before dedicating himself to information security, he was a Unix/Linux systems administrator for 10 years. He co-founded Io Network Solutions, Inc. in 1999 and has a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University. | Jay Geistlinger is the Manager of Information Technology at the Research Park and Incubation Facilities. Since returning to his alma mater in 1992, he has worked as a programmer in a neuroscience lab in the Psychology Department and been a programmer, network administrator, and manager with CCSO and CITES. He is currently serving as chair of the Data Center Operational Models Working Group of the Campus Data Center Consolidation Committee, has been involved with organizing a campus association of data center professionals, and currently operates one data center and one “data center lite” at EnterpriseWorks. | |

| Mona Heath is Deputy Chief Information Officer for the campus. Working with the CIO, she explores how academic endeavors can be facilitated by technology. Her areas of special interest include alignment of IT services with faculty needs, campus-wide support models, accessibility of IT resources, and the role of IT in campus marketing. She is currently developing a web site about "IT Excellence at Illinois" to give prospective students, faculty, sponsors, and collaborators a sense of the excellence of IT-related research, education, outreach, and facilities at Illinois and provide a jumping-off point for exploring the web sites of contributors to that excellence. Mona began her career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she held a succession of positions, including applications programming, help desk management, and IT strategic planning. Her next position was in technical marketing support for IBM, focusing on clients in higher education. She began working on campus in 1993, where she has held a series of positions including system administration, customer service leadership, and strategic communications and planning. | |

| Brad Horn has worked for CITES since 1996. He started in the CCSO Resource Center then moved to managing Departmental Services (DS) IT Support group in 1999. Management of the DS Application Development group was added in 2002 and management of DS Central Services group was added in 2008. He recently transitioned into the CITES Collaboration Services group with the services provided by the former DS Central Services group. | |
| Craig Jackson has been with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences since 2001. His current role as director for an information technology center (ATLAS) in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is to provide leadership to a complex unit that provides IT services to the College. One of his principal duties is to represent the College to vendors and create cooperative purchasing opportunities for the 54 departments and units representing the diverse nature of the College, as well as seek mutually-beneficial partnerships across campus. | |
| Sally Jackson was named Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Associate Provost at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2007. Prior to becoming CIO at Illinois, Professor Jackson served as Vice President for Learning and Information Technologies and Chief Information Officer at the University of Arizona. | |
| Andre Krabbe is the manager of the UI WebStore and has been instrumental in the evolution of the WebStore service since its creation in 2001. He is a Champaign-Urbana native and graduate of the University of Illinois. | Thomas Kunka is the Coordinator of Network Systems and Operations and is responsible for support and planning in all aspects of computing technology and networking in the ITS classrooms as well as internal operations. Previous to his administrative and technical roles at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he served Illinois State University as Assistant Director of Computer User Services, where he managed the campus' technology training and student technology orientation programs. | |

| Mark Monce is a Senior Systems Engineer for VMware. Mark is a 20-year IT veteran and has been with VMware since 2008. Mark has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies as well as educational institutions to optimize their IT operations. He has specialized in Service Level Management, Security, Configuration Management and IT Process Optimization. Mark holds several industry certifications, including ITIL, VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE and CISSP. | |
| Raymond L. Price, Ph.D., Professor and Severens Chair for Human Behavior, joined the faculty in the fall of 1998. He has had a long career in industry, working in Management and Organization Development and Human Resources. Most recently, he was Vice President of Human Resources at Allergan, Inc. Prior to that he was the Director of Employee Training and Development for Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. He also held various management positions with Hewlett-Packard, including Manager of Engineering Education. His primary charter is to provide opportunities for engineering students to understand and develop skills in Human Behavior: interpersonal skills, leadership, and management skills that will be useful to them in their careers. | |
| Michele Raupp, PMP, came to the university last October from Keane, Inc. where she held positions as an Implementation Coordinator, Project Coordinator and Staffing Manager. With 11 years experience in marketing and communications and 10 years experience in IT, Michele has returned to her alma mater as the Project Manager for the university's domain name change project. | |

| Beth Scheid has been a part of academic computing for over 25 years. During this time, she has overseen CITES groups that designed, implemented, and maintained network data, wireless, voice, and DNS services for the campus. | |
| Mark K. Smith is executive director of the Universial Parallel Computing Research Center (UPCRC). He has broad experience working with the global academic research community and Fortune 500 hardware and software companies. Prior to joining UPCRC, he built and managed an international research community comprised of 71 leading universities, research centers, supercomputing centers, and national labs, supported by five industrial sponsors. Early in his career, Smith helped launch several software companies and has gone through the full startup experience, including raising investor capital and producing, selling, and supporting commercial developer tools and 3-D modeling software. His current research interests include data center power management and sustainable computing. He is leading an Illinois research initiative to address data center energy efficiency and is actively involved with several energy conservation campus initiatives. Smith holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and an MBA from the University of Illinois. | |
| Gale R. Stafford, Application Service Manager, joined CITES staff in the fall of 2004. His IT experience includes technical support for software companies in Boulder, CO, and a technical writing and business analysis role at a non-profit in San Francisco, CA. At CITES, he manages the Express Email service for campus and supports the CITES WIKI service. Gale is also enrolled in a full-time program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, working towards his Doctorate in Industrial-Organizational / Business Psychology. His research interests include employee creativity and the innovative performance of organizations. | |
| Mary Stevens has worked with CITES since 1997. She is the team lead for Network Engineering and has been working in Network Engineering since 2001. She focuses primarily on the campus firewalls, IPS devices, and the campus VPN. | |
| Ryan Thomas began serving the College of Education in 1995 as a CITES Departmental Services consultant for database development and network administration. Now, as Director of IT at the College of Education, Ryan leads a team of IT professionals who provide a wide range of IT services to the college. Involved in various IT-related campus-wide committees over the years, both Ryan and members of his team contribute to efforts to improve campus IT services and their articulation with colleges and departments. | |

| John Unsworth was named Dean of the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 2003, with appointments as Professor in GSLIS, in the department of English, and on the Library faculty. During the previous ten years, from 1993-2003, he served as the first Director of the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, and a faculty member in the English Department, at the University of Virginia. For his work at IATH, he received the 2005 Richard W. Lyman Award from the National Humanities Center. He chaired the national commission that produced Our Cultural Commonwealth, the 2006 report on Cyberinfrastructure for Humanities and Social Science, on behalf of the American Council of Learned Societies, and he has supervised research projects across the disciplines in the humanities. He has also published widely on the topic of electronic scholarship, as well as co-directing one of nine national partnerships in the Library of Congress's National Digital Information Infrastructure Preservation Program, and securing grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Science Foundation, the Getty Grant Program, IBM, Sun, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and others. His first faculty appointment was in English, at North Carolina State University, from 1989 to 1993. He attended Princeton University and Amherst College as an undergraduate, graduating from Amherst in 1981. He received a Master's degree in English from Boston University in 1982 and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Virginia in 1988. In 1990, at NCSU, he co-founded the first peer-reviewed electronic journal in the humanities, Postmodern Culture (now published by Johns Hopkins University Press, as part of Project Muse). He also organized, incorporated, and chaired the Text Encoding Initiative Consortium, co-chaired the Modern Language Association's Committee on Scholarly Editions, and served as President of the Association for Computers and the Humanities and later as chair of the steering committee for the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations, as well as serving on many other editorial and advisory boards. | |

| Keith Wessel is a member of the CITES Identity Management Team, where he has served as the technical lead for CITES' directory and authentication services since 2002. Prior to that, Keith worked for NCSA (beginning in 1992) as a software developer and system administrator. Later, while completing two degrees in computer science at the College of Engineering, he worked for CCSO's Workstation Services Group and the Engineering Workstations Group. His brief year and a half in the corporate world took him to Michigan, where he obtained Six Sigma certification and project management experience with Ford Motor Company. | |
| Michael T. Williams is the Director of Learning Technologies for the University of Illinois College of Education. He provides leadership and vision for the Learning Technologies team, which continues to promote and support the use of new media and digital technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Mike also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focused on the use of information technology to enhance teaching and learning. Mike serves as the Principal Investigator in two funded research projects aimed at technology-based professional development of pre-service and in-service teachers and participates in several campus learning technology initiatives, including the Elearning committee. | |
